Moving from the Homematic IP Access Point to the Homematic IP Home Control Unit is now easier than ever. The 3.4.7 app update introduces a system transfer wizard that completes the migration of an installation in just a few minutes. All devices, groups, automations, settings and measurement data from the last 12 months are transferred. Only extended functions such as user roles and access authorizations need to be created again manually afterwards.

On the Homematic IP website, eQ-3 offers an illustrated instruction and answers the most frequently asked user questions.

The advantages of the Homematic IP Home Control Unit

The Homematic IP Home Control Unit offers numerous advantages for users of an extensive smart home installation: The powerful control center connects up to 350 smart home components, 120 of which are radio-controlled devices. Their operation and configuration is easy thanks to the intuitive app control - even without an internet connection if desired. All settings, measurement data and automations are stored locally. Plug-in functionality, an EEBUS interface, WLAN and LAN connection and other connection options make the Home Control Unit the most flexible Homematic IP central control unit ever.

"Else" action

In addition to the system transfer wizard, the app update also adds a new option for automations. The "Else" command can be used in the if-then rules to trigger an alternative action. This enables even more intelligent programming.

The update for the Homematic IP app with version number 3.4.7 will be rolled out gradually from 25 February 2025 via the respective app stores and will be available to all users within a few days.
