DoorBird and Homematic IP now connected - for greater convenience and security.

DoorBird intercoms set standards in the field of door communication. Now the multiple award-winning products are becoming part of the Homematic IP smart home system. Update 3.5.13 for the free Homematic IP app, which will be rolled out gradually from May 27, 2025, enables users to establish a secure cloud-to-cloud connection between a DoorBird video intercom and a Homematic IP installation. This makes controlling access to the smart home even easier and more convenient.

If a visitor is at the door and rings the bell, the Homematic IP app informs the residents via a push message. Then all it takes is a tap of the finger to speak directly to the guest: all video and audio signals are transmitted directly to the Homematic IP app. If desired, the door can be opened with just one more tap - simply, quickly and securely.

As a Homematic IP partner product, the DoorBird video intercom can be flexibly combined with many components of the smart home system, for example with a Homematic IP door lock drive. Users can also use the integrated switching relay, the motion detector or doorbell button and use the DoorBird device's access module for intelligent automation as desired.

The integration is available to all customers with a Homematic IP Access Point or a Homematic IP Home Control Unit and the free Homematic IP app from version 3.5.13, which will be rolled out gradually for all users from May 27, 2025. All DoorBird Video intercoms from the D11 and D21 series will be supported.

Maximum security - Made in Germany

The cloud-to-cloud connection of both systems meets the highest standards of data protection and security. Ralph Bertelt, CEO of eQ-3 AG: "All communication between Homematic IP and DoorBird is fully encrypted and complies with the latest security standards. This means that no information can get into the wrong hands. The Homematic IP cloud is also operated exclusively on servers in Germany and is subject to the strictest data protection and security requirements. In 2024, our system was certified by the VDE for the eighth time in a row in the areas of protocol, IT and data security."
