Homematic IP App update: New alarm system available from July 22

The redesigned alarm system serves as the central user interface for controlling and monitoring all security-related components in the Homematic IP app. It consolidates all devices, events and status information into a clear, organized menu and enables intuitive operation. 

Users can see at a glance whether all devices are functioning properly and whether their home is protected. With a single tap, they can activate various monitoring modes or manually trigger an alarm using the panic button in case of an emergency.

All video feeds from the Homematic IP security cameras - which will be available in stores starting at the end of July 2026 - are also displayed in the overview. This way, users can rest assured that their smart home is well protected, even when they’re on the go.

The new feature will be available to all users starting July 22.
 

Faster Search in the Device List

The free update also improves the search function in the device list. Starting now, it’s possible to search the list by product short descriptions (e.g., HmIP-PSM-2 for a Pluggable Switch and Meter). This makes it easier to find individual devices.

As usual, update 3.8.18 for the Homematic IP app will be rolled out gradually and will be available to all users within a few days. The alarm system will be activated on July 22.
