The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. With the Homematic IP Glass Wall Thermostat and the Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat - flex, two products from the German manufacturer eQ-3 were awarded this year.

Ralph Bertelt, CEO of eQ-3 AG, is delighted with the award: "We are extremely proud to receive two awards in the Red Dot Design Award 2025, as it is proof of the successful further development of our brand philosophy. In addition to the best functionality and quality that Homematic IP has been known for since its initial market launch ten years ago, we now also want to offer customers a sophisticated design to take their smart home to the next level, not only technically but also visually." This reorientation was already initiated in 2021, when the Radiator Thermostat - Evo was the first Homematic IP product to receive a Red Dot.

The Homematic IP glass series

The glass wall thermostats and the glass push-button of the Homematic IP glass series combine exclusive aesthetics and intuitive smart home technology. The products are made of high-quality real glass in elegant black or timeless white and enhance the look of any room.

A gentle touch of the touch-sensitive surface reveals the clever functions of the devices: the glass push-button can be flexibly configured for one-, two- or four-button operation. The glass wall thermostat displays the set and actual temperature as well as humidity and, in the version with carbon dioxide sensor, the CO₂ value. The temperature is controlled in precise 0.5° C steps for the perfect feel-good climate. The Homematic IP glass series will be available from mid-2025.

The Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat - flex

The unmissable highlight of the Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat - flex is its high-contrast e-paper display, which can be rotated in 90-degree steps and guarantees ideal readability at all times. Depending on the setting, the current set temperature and additional information are displayed. The energy-saving display also makes installation child's play. Step-by-step instructions and the QR code for programming the device in the free Homematic IP app are shown directly on the display.

Invisible, but no less clever, is the technology inside the smart thermostat. Thanks to individual temperature curves with up to three adjustable heating profiles and 13 changes per day, heating is only provided when heat is needed. In conjunction with window contacts and depending on user behavior and structural conditions, heating costs can be reduced by up to 33%.
