Sicherheitskamera an Hauswand unter Dachvorsprung, unscharfe Bäume im Hintergrund.

A firmware update is required for the following Homematic IP camera products:

Why is this update necessary?

An update to the cloud security certificate effective September 20, 2026, requires a firmware update. To ensure that the affected cameras can continue to communicate reliably with the cloud services, a certificate stored in the devices must be updated.

This update can only be performed via a firmware update, which must be triggered manually.

What happens if the update is not installed?

If the firmware is not updated in time, device functionality may be limited after the certificate chain is updated. Affected cameras may then:

  • no longer transmit motion events to the Homematic IP app,
  • no longer send doorbell events to the smartphone,
  • Provide notifications and other cloud-based features only to a limited extent or not at all.

What firmware version is required?

To ensure full functionality of the devices, at least the following firmware versions must be installed: HmIP-CODB-A): 3.5.11.20260910

  • Homematic IP Rechargeable Outdoor Camera (HmIP-COR): 6.2.7.20260819

The required firmware updates can now be installed via the Homematic IP app.

How to Perform the Update

  • Open the Homematic IP app.
  • Open the “More” menu and select “Device Updates.”
  • Check if an update is available for your camera.
  • Start installing the firmware update.

Important: For affected cameras, the battery level must be at least 80% to install the update. The app will notify you if the requirements are met.

Note

Firmware updates contribute to the security, stability, and functionality of your devices. We generally recommend installing available updates as soon as possible. In this case, the update is required to ensure your camera continues to function without restrictions even after September 22, 2026.
