Homematic IP is once again setting new standards in the areas of security and data protection: the solution from the German manufacturer eQ-3 is the first smart home system to be certified by the VDE for protocol, IT and data security for the eighth time in a row. Homematic IP impresses with its comprehensive encryption of all device communication and the almost complete absence of personal data collection - a decisive factor in protecting the privacy of users.
In an increasingly digitalised world in which more and more areas of life are being networked, many users are concerned about the protection of their privacy. The certification by the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), which is one of the most demanding security tests, emphasises the reliability and data security of the Homematic IP system.
Among other things, the certificate confirms that all communication protocols of the system are protected by state-of-the-art encryption methods. The entire exchange of information between the Homematic IP components, the control center and the Homematic IP cloud servers in Germany is bidirectionally secured. It is therefore practically impossible for third parties to intercept and read the data. With the Homematic IP Home Control Unit, smart home owners also have the option of operating their smart home purely locally, operate their intelligent home purely locally, without information leaving the home network. It couldn't be more secure.
For the entire use of the Homematic IP system eQ-3 refrains from registering and collecting personal data, only the IP address is recorded in encrypted form for technical reasons. This means that no data can get into wrong hands.
The eight-time certification by the VDE shows that security is not just a promise for eQ-3, but an obligation. Users can always rely on the protection of their data and the reliability of the German manufacturer's smart home solutions.
