Summer can come: eQ-3 is expanding its Homematic IP smart home system from July 2025 with an innovative watering actuator that takes care of garden maintenance automatically and as required. The battery-operated Homematic IP Watering Actuator (HmIP-WSM) is simply screwed onto the outdoor tap and connected to a garden hose. It then enables automatic watering or sprinkling at the optimum time of day and with the ideal amount of water. In the free Homematic IP app, users can define flexible schedules and individual scenarios for watering in just a few steps. Of course, manual activation - on the device and via remote access - is also possible at any time.

A particular highlight is the integrated flow measurement: It records the water consumption and displays the data precisely in the app. This gives users a detailed overview and allows them to optimise the duration and quantity of watering in a targeted manner. This not only protects the environment, but also reduces unnecessary costs.  In the cold season, the irrigation actuator warns of falling temperatures to prevent frost damage.

In combination with other Homematic IP components, even smarter automation is possible: For example, the data from the Homematic IP Weather Sensor can be used to control watering depending on the weather - so watering is only carried out when it is really necessary.

The Homematic IP Watering Actuator will be available from July 2025.
