Central control element for your smart home

The Home Control Unit forms the basis for the Homematic IP smart home system. It allows you to control wireless and wired devices and integrates all the components seamlessly into your home.

More

Integration with CCU3 and Wired Access Point

The Home Control Unit can be used together with the CCU3 smart home Central Control Unit to integrate Homematic devices into the system.

While the CCU3 ensures the connection to Homematic devices, the Homematic IP Wired Access Point allows you to control your wired devices. This combination provides a flexible and stable platform for the automation and control of all smart home components.

Expansion options through gateways

The Home Control Unit also allows gateways from other manufacturers, such as Alexa, Google Assistant or Philips Hue, to be easily integrated.

This enables, for example, voice control and the integration of products from third-party providers, making the Homematic IP system even more versatile.

Which central control unit best suits your smart home?

Every smart home has its own requirements. Whether you value maximum flexibility, intuitive operation, or professional installation – we will show you the differences and advantages of the Homematic IP Home Control Unit, the Homematic IP Access Point, the CCU3 Smart Home Central Control Unit, and the Homematic IP Wired Access Point so that you can find the perfect solution for your home.

Ready for operation in minutes

Without any prior technical knowledge or tools: Installation of the Homematic IP Home Control Unit is really easy: connect the supplied network cable to your router or use the Wi-Fi installation. The free Homematic IP App then guides you through the installation process. Done.

The attractively designed Home Control Unit in white or anthracite stands stably on a solid surface. You can also install the Home Control Unit on the wall using the wall bracket supplied.

Future-Proof with Plug-Ins: How to Make Your Smart Home Even Smarter

With the Home Control Unit, you have the flexibility to expand your Smart Home through plug-ins. Currently, plug-ins are available for the integration of Philips Hue and the CCU3. The CCU3 plug-in allows seamless integration of your existing Homematic and Homematic IP devices (see guideline).

A plug-in for the automatic migration of devices trained at the Access Point will be available in the first quarter of 2025. Until then, it will be necessary to unlearn the devices and then re-learn them to the Home Control Unit.

Seamless integration of Philips Hue lamps into your smart home

The Homematic IP Home Control Unit allows you to easily integrate your Philips Hue lamps into your smart home. In combination with the Home Control Unit, it is possible to integrate all the lamps of a Philips Hue bridge, allowing you to conveniently control all your lighting via the Homematic IP app and integrate it into your smart home automation routines. Experience unlimited flexibility when designing your individual lighting mood and smart home experiences.

HCUweb - the web interface of the Home Control Unit

The HCUweb is a specially developed web interface of the Home Control Unit that allows users to make various network settings and system configurations directly and locally. This web interface is a powerful tool that is particularly suitable for users who want more in-depth control over their smart home system.

Network settings

One of the central functions of HCUweb is the management of network settings. Here, users can configure DNS servers and define static IP addresses for wired and Wi-Fi connections. This provides precise control over the Home Control Unit's network connection and ensures that the system is smoothly integrated into the local network.

Backup and USB management

The HCUweb offers extensive options for backing up and restoring data. Users can manage backups of their system configurations via the web interface and save them to a connected USB memory device. This is particularly useful for quickly accessing backed-up settings if necessary. In addition, USB storage management enables the management and configuration of USB storage media connected to the Home Control Unit.

Plug-In management

Another outstanding feature of the HCUweb is the plug-in management. Here, users can manage plug-ins that extend the functions of the Home Control Unit. This makes it possible to customize the system to specific requirements and add additional functions going beyond the standard configuration.

Update management

To keep the Home Control Unit up to date at all times, the HCUweb offers the option of managing firmware updates and system updates. Users can decide whether these updates are carried out manually or automatically. This ensures that the system is always up to date and that new functions or security updates can be easily integrated.

Online and offline mode

A special feature of the HCUweb is the option of switching between online and offline mode on the Home Control Unit. In offline mode, the system remains fully functional, but without a connection to the cloud. This means that all local functions are still available, while cloud-based services remain deactivated. This function provides additional security and control, especially in situations where a constant Internet connection is not desired or possible.

Advantages of the Home Control Unit for the trade

The Homematic IP Home Control Unit offers trade businesses great flexibility and comprehensive control when implementing smart home projects. It can integrate up to 350 devices*, including wireless and wired components, making it an ideal solution for flexible installations and large projects. The Home Control Unit makes it possible to control a large number of devices in a single system, which is particularly advantageous for new builds and retrofits.

Easy expansion of existing systems

The Home Control Unit also enables easy integration and expansion of existing installations. By supporting both Homematic IP and older Homematic systems, it enables existing systems to be easily modernised and expanded, without having to do without tried-and-tested components.
