The HCUweb is a specially developed web interface of the Home Control Unit that allows users to make various network settings and system configurations directly and locally. This web interface is a powerful tool that is particularly suitable for users who want more in-depth control over their smart home system.
One of the central functions of HCUweb is the management of network settings. Here, users can configure DNS servers and define static IP addresses for wired and Wi-Fi connections. This provides precise control over the Home Control Unit's network connection and ensures that the system is smoothly integrated into the local network.
The HCUweb offers extensive options for backing up and restoring data. Users can manage backups of their system configurations via the web interface and save them to a connected USB memory device. This is particularly useful for quickly accessing backed-up settings if necessary. In addition, USB storage management enables the management and configuration of USB storage media connected to the Home Control Unit.
Another outstanding feature of the HCUweb is the plugin management. Here, users can manage plugins that extend the functions of the Home Control Unit. This makes it possible to customize the system to specific requirements and add additional functions going beyond the standard configuration.
To keep the Home Control Unit up to date at all times, the HCUweb offers the option of managing firmware updates and system updates. Users can decide whether these updates are carried out manually or automatically. This ensures that the system is always up to date and that new functions or security updates can be easily integrated.
A special feature of the HCUweb is the option of switching between online and offline mode on the Home Control Unit. In offline mode, the system remains fully functional, but without a connection to the cloud. This means that all local functions are still available, while cloud-based services remain deactivated. This function provides additional security and control, especially in situations where a constant Internet connection is not desired or possible.
