Find out all you need to know for optimum control of your smart home! What exactly can I do with the switching/measuring socket and how is it installed? The socket outlet allows you to switch connected electrical appliances on and off at any time from anywhere and to measure their energy consumption, voltage, current and power. Installation is extremely simple: the device is simply plugged into an existing standard socket outlet and is immediately ready for use. What control options do I have apart from the app? In addition to control via app, you can also operate the socket directly on the device using the system button. Convenient control by voice command via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant is also possible. For more flexible use, the device can also be paired with Homematic IP buttons or remote controls. What technical load limits and accuracies does the device offer for demanding scenarios? The socket is designed for a maximum current consumption of 13 A and a switching capacity of up to 3 kW with resistive loads. The measuring accuracy is very high at 0.1 % ± 0.01 Hz, which enables precise evaluations. Please note that the permissible load varies for special consumers: for example, lamps with internal ballast (LED) are specified up to 200 W and electric radiators up to 8 A (at 200,000 switching cycles). Can the switching/measuring socket contribute to optimizing the radio range in the system? Yes, the device can optionally be used as a router to extend the range of the Homematic IP wireless signal. This function is particularly useful in extensive buildings to stabilize communication between the access point and remote devices. This is configured in the device settings of the app. How does the device behave in critical situations such as overload or power failure? In the event of an overload (over 13 A or 3 kW), the device switches off automatically after a short delay to prevent damage and displays an error message in the app. After the power returns, the device performs a self-test. In the expert settings, you can also define the behavior when power is supplied (e.g. whether the socket should be "On" or "Off" by default). Integrated temperature protection also ensures a safety shutdown in the event of overheating.
