The HmIP-DS55-A is designed for all battery-powered Homematic IP devices in the standardized 55 mm format. These include, for example, wall thermostats, various wall-mounted push-buttons, and other compact control units. Thanks to the standardized frame, the devices can be inserted securely and used reliably—without any additional adapters or mounting materials. Is any tool required for installation? No, installation is completely tool-free. The Homematic IP device is simply clicked into the frame of the tabletop stand. The integrated locking tabs ensure a secure hold. Then insert the batteries into the base so the device is powered immediately. Why does the stand extend battery life? Inside the base of the HmIP-DS55-A there are two AA batteries that supply the inserted Homematic IP device directly with power. This means the smaller batteries normally used in the device do not need to be used. The higher capacity of AA cells results in a significantly longer operating time.
