All you need is the Homematic IP Access Point or the Home Control Unit - connected to your router - and the free Homematic IP app on your smartphone. The irrigation actuator is taught at the touch of a button and can be used immediately - without any prior technical knowledge or complex set-up. This is an easy way to get started with smart garden irrigation. How do I control the watering? Control is either possible via the Homematic IP app, by push-button, by voice command (Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant) or directly on the device at the touch of a button. In the app, you can create individual time profiles, define the watering duration and days and intervene manually at any time - even when you're on the move. This gives you full control of your garden watering - flexibly and conveniently. Does the watering actuator really measure water consumption? Yes, the integrated flow sensor measures both the current flow rate and the total amount of water dispensed in real time. These values are regularly transferred to the app, where you can view them clearly. You receive statistics on daily, weekly, monthly and annual consumption - ideal for optimizing your irrigation and consciously reducing water consumption. What happens with the watering actuator in winter? The watering actuator automatically detects when the temperature falls below 5 °C and closes the valve to prevent frost damage. You also receive a push notification via the app. We recommend removing the watering actuator from the tap at the end of the season, cleaning it thoroughly and storing it in a dry, frost-free place - so it is ready for use again in spring. Do I need special tools to install the watering actuator? No, installation is completely tool-free. The watering actuator is simply screwed onto the 1-inch connection of a standard outdoor tap by hand. A suitable adapter is included for taps with a 3/4-inch thread. Can I control the watering with the watering actuator depending on the weather? Yes, this is easily possible. In combination with a Homematic IP weather sensor (e.g. the weather Sensor - plus) and a rain sensor, the watering actuator can be controlled depending on temperature, precipitation or solar radiation.
