The campus consists of two buildings in total, featuring barrier-free access to three different flat types, all accessible via two high-quality lift systems. The Bilk district is a popular residential area for students, ever since the former Medical Academy in Bilk was expanded into a university in the late 1960s, which now has approximately 24,000 students.

All 27 apartments have been smartly equipped with Homematic IP solutions for indoor climate, lighting and shading. Each apartment can be intelligently controlled via control panel or app – accessible even to guests. To achieve this, the developer utilised the mediola AIO Creator app to create a bespoke visualisation tailored to the building’s needs.

The contemporary loft-style apartments are elegantly enhanced with Homematic IP Wired Switch Actuators – 8 channels and Wired Dimming Actuators – 3 channels. These devices manage the entire lighting system within each flat, allowing residents to effortlessly switch lights on or off, or adjust brightness levels via the app or control panel. This user-friendly setup is especially crucial for this property, as it must accommodate a variety of users who all need to navigate the same smart home system with ease.

The installed shutters are controlled via Homematic IP Blind Actuators – 4-channels. Lighting and shading can be managed using 6-channel push-buttons, behind which a Homematic IP Wired IO Module is installed. For the safety of the residents, our Homematic IP Smoke Alarms are also in place. These interconnected smoke detectors sound the alarm immediately when smoke is detected and communicate with each other throughout the building complex. In the event of an alarm, lights automatically switch on to illuminate escape routes, helping residents to evacuate safely and promptly.

Additionally, a multitude of Homematic IP Wired Presence Sensors and Homematic IP Wired Motion Detectors have been installed throughout the building. These sensors automatically detect occupancy and movement, enabling the lighting to be seamlessly controlled without any action required from the residents.
