From the outset of the renovation work in 2021, it was clear to Alexander Gössling that he wanted to make his house smart. With the help of Elektro Pape from Winterberg (Germany), a certified Homematic IP specialist partner, the project was comprehensively planned out and a detailed concept developed to fully realise his vision.

He remains completely satisfied with his choice to this day. A noticeably enhanced level of comfort can be felt, particularly in terms of the indoor climate. Temperature control has been intelligently automated through a combination of radiator thermostats, wall thermostats and window and door contacts. He is particularly impressed by the window and door contact – optical that detects open windows within seconds. By linking it with the radiator thermostats, it ensures that the room temperature is automatically lowered when a window is open, thereby saving energy.

“When choosing a product brand, what mattered most to me was excellent service, intuitive device operation, app-based control, flexible expandability and long-term availability – all of which Homematic IP delivers”,

- Alexander Gössling from Sauerland -

His heating system also independently detects whether someone is at home. By networking with the presence sensor – indoor, which captures even the slightest movements, the temperature is adjusted up or down as needed, depending on whether the occupants are present or not.

The intelligent interaction of the various products not only significantly enhances living comfort but also reduces energy consumption: with Homematic IP smart home solutions, heating costs can be reduced by up to 33%*.

And that’s not all: the automatic activation of various lighting scenes was also on the wish list. For this purpose, dimming actuators – 3-channel and switch actuators – 8-channel were installed. This allows multiple lamps to be switched on and off fully automatically and set to different brightness levels simultaneously – always perfectly tailored to the daily routine.

For the control of his system, the home owner relies on the Smart Home Central Control Unit in combination with the Homematic IP Wired Access Point. This setup allows for the use of both wireless and wired Homematic IP devices in his home. Configuration is straightforward and performed via the WebUI interface. Additionally, in collaboration with Elektro Pape, he created a customised control interface for his smart home using the mediola AIO CREATOR NEO, perfectly tailored to his needs.

It is not just the innovative products and enhanced comfort that reassure Alexander Gössling he made the right choice with Homematic IP for his smart home. The exceptional service – from expert planning and installation by Elektro Pape to the friendly and responsive Homematic IP customer support – ensures he can enjoy his smart home dream with ease and complete peace of mind.
