Whether it’s peak season or the winter break – since summer 2025, everything at the apartment house Passepartout on Norderney has been running a little smarter. Owner Maike Hofmann wanted to not only control her holiday apartments more comfortably but also operate them more efficiently. She found the perfect solution in Homematic IP: reliable, flexible and fully automated.

Automatic heating control thanks to booking system integration

The greatest relief? “We no longer have to manually turn the heating up or down”, says Hofmann. Thanks to the plugin capability with the new Homematic IP Home Control Unit, the system can be directly linked to the booking system. When an apartment is booked, the room temperature is automatically increased – when the room is vacant, it is lowered to save energy. All without any manual intervention. This saves time and, of course, costs.

The installation was carried out by Rosenboom GmbH – a long-standing specialist partner of Homematic IP. Together with two employees from the manufacturer who provided on-site support, the system was fully integrated within just two days. Remarkably, hotel operations continued uninterrupted throughout the process and guests were completely unaware of the technical upgrade.
