Update for the open beta of the new Homematic IP app

Interested users have been able to try out the new Homematic IP app in a beta version since April. The pre-release version is now receiving an update that improves a popular feature, among other things.

The home favorites are one of the most useful functions of the Homematic IP app. Up to now, up to four device functions per room could be displayed directly on the app's home screen in the tile view to enable particularly quick and easy operation. In response to popular demand from the Homematic IP community, the number of home favorites has been increased to up to 15 entries per room. This gives users an even better overview of their smart home.

The Home Favorites will be expanded with an update for the beta version of the new Homematic IP app, which will be rolled out from 4 June 2024.

Become a beta tester now

The beta of the new Homematic IP app is available for iOS and Android devices. Access to the free download differs depending on the operating system:

  • Android: The Homematic IP app beta can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
  • iOS: The beta is made available via TestFlight. Users must first set up the TestFlight app on their iOS device. Then open this invitation link on your iPhone to install the Homematic IP beta app. Due to the limitations of TestFlight, the number of participants is limited to 10,000 users.
     

Important notes

The existing Homematic IP app must not be uninstalled! Once the test phase is complete, the beta will no longer be maintained and will be deleted from the app stores. User settings made in the beta will be lost.

The Homematic IP App Beta is added to a Homematic IP installation as a new user. Access authorizations and user rights must be reassigned in the existing Homematic IP app.

The beta is still under development and may therefore still contain software errors. Participation in the beta test is voluntary. eQ-3 AG is only liable for defects in the software in the event of intent or gross negligence.
