Cooperation between the two companies had already begun with Vaillant's ambiSENSE individual room control system, which is also based on Homematic IP. The cooperation has worked well over the years and is now being expanded. Vaillant devices – ranging from the Vaillant gateway through to electronic radiator thermostats and future products – will be able to communicate with each other via the Homematic IP wireless protocol. Integration of each others’ end devices into existing eQ-3 and Vaillant smart home systems is not planned for the time being.

The experience we have had with eQ-3 as a partner over the years has been very good. With Homematic IP, we have opted for an energy-efficient and range-optimised wireless technology, especially for battery-operated smart home products such as wall thermostats, climate sensors and actuators”,says Dr Jochen Wriske, R&D Manager Controls & Connectivity at Vaillant Group. Bernd Grohmann, Managing Director of eQ-3, is also thrilled about the cooperation: “We are proud to have Vaillant, one of the market and technology leaders in the field of heating technology, as a long-term partner. The partnership proves once again that the IPv6-based Homematic IP system is perfect for making products smart, and is considered by the market to be an extremely future-proof technology

.

Both companies are convinced that they will be able to further expand their positions in the market through this cooperation.
