How to connect your smart home system to Amazon Alexa

For the basic configuration, the user sets up an Amazon account and installs the Amazon Alexa app on their smartphone. The devices can then be easily controlled via the Homematic IP Skill stored in the app.
 
You can find detailed set-up information in our user manual.
  1. In the Homematic IP app menu, select the item "Voice control and additional services" - "Amazon Alexa".
  2. Tap on "Pairing" and copy the activation key.
  3. Switch to the Amazon Alexa app and install the Homematic IP Skill via the menu.
  4. Add the copied activation key here.
  5. This provides the link between Amazon Alexa and the Homematic IP Cloud.
  6. And you're done!
