The key to your smart home. 

For installation, the front door must have a standard profile cylinder with an emergency and hazard functionality. This means that the door lock can also be operated from the outside when a key is inserted into the cylinder on the inside, in other words, that the door can always be opened with a key from the outside.

The door lock drive is used on doors with locks and bolts that move easily. This can be tested by locking and unlocking the door lock with the key and without using the door handle. If necessary, adjust the door hinges and/or the striking plate in the door frame so that locking and unlocking with the key is smooth and easy as described.

In addition, the lock cylinder must protrude 8 to 15 mm on the inside. This overhang is necessary to mount the door lock drive.

Because it is battery operated (3 x 1.5 V LR6/Mignon/AA), no additional wiring is required.

The door lock drive cannot be operated on its own. You also require a Homematic IP Access Point or a Central Control Unit for operation. This integration into the Homematic IP system opens up numerous connection options for other components.

Operation of the door lock drive requires a connection to one of the of the following solutions:

• Homematic IP Access Point with free smartphone app and free cloud service
• Smart Home Central Control Unit CCU3 or CCU2 with a local WebUI
• Third-party partner solution

Your door can be easily unlocked or locked via the two buttons on the door lock drive and via the app.

And the door lock can be opened and closed manually at any time (emergency function).

It is currently possible to lock the door via the voice assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The handy Key Ring Remote Control – Access controls the Homematic IP door lock drive to unlock, lock and open the door. Because it is a direct connection, no internet connection is necessary.

The additional light button can be used to turn the lights in the entrance area on or off, for example.

If you lose the remote control while out and about, you can easily block it using the app.

A connection to the cloud and thus an internet connection is required to access the door lock via the Homematic IP app.

With the Key Ring Remote Control – Access, direct connection to the Homematic IP door lock drive is possible. This means that in this case both components communicate directly with each other. This connection enables operation when there is no internet connection. The remote control’s particularly long range of up to 200 metres means you can open the door while still walking towards it.

Naturally, your regular house key still work, too – your lock cylinder just needs to have an emergency and hazard functionality.

The Homematic IP cloud operates exclusively on German servers. In addition, Homematic IP does not require any personal data to be entered. The devices’ technical data is stored anonymously, making it impossible for any conclusions to be drawn about the identity of the user or individual user behaviour.
