A smart home should make your life easier and minimise or completely banish everyday annoyances. The best example: You come home after shopping and have to awkwardly try to switch on the light at every light switch. When that happens, the Homematic IP passage sensor with direction recognition is there to help. It not only reliably detects that someone's walking through the door, but also which direction they're walking in. In combination with Homematic IP light actuators, the light is switched on automatically when you enter the room.

Mounted inconspicuously in the door frame or on the staircase, the sensor quickly detects people passing and switches on the lighting - even depending on the direction in which they're walking, if you want that.

In contrast to motion or presence detectors, the passage sensor only switches exactly when a person in the detection zone passes the sensor.
The powerful lens detects even the slightest movements, such as typing on a keyboard.

The sensor is reliably suitable for security applications and sends an alarm message directly to your smartphone if an unauthorised person enters your house.

The integrated sabotage contact also sends you a warning via the Homematic IP app if the sensor is removed.

*A 100 % accurate count of the number of people is only possible if it can be ensured that several people do not pass the sensor at the same time or are within the detection range of the sensor. Otherwise, the passage sensor should be used for controlling light sources in combination with a conventional or radio pushbutton / presence detector.
