Wouldn't it be great if the light always turned itself on where you're walking to at that moment. What sounds like the stuff of dreams has long been possible with the Homematic IP motion detector for Size 55 frames. The detector recognises any movement, switches on the light or reports an alarm on request. If necessary you can also switch on the light manually with the button.

When there's movement, the light is switched on depending on the brightness level. On request, an alarm is reported within your security solution.

Depending on the brightness level in your room, the light is only switched on when you really need it - for more convenience and energy savings. Integrated into a Homematic IP security solution, the motion detector can also trigger an alarm besides switching on the light.

The power supply works by batteries or with a power supply unit for brand switches.

Two micro-batteries supply the unit with power for an average of two years. When integrating the motion detector into a Homematic IP security solution, you need a Homematic IP power supply unit for brand switches (HmIP-BPS) for the power supply..

Great flexibility thanks to a modular design

Use the motion detector individually. It's built in such a way that it can be installed with maximum flexibility:

  • Integration into existing switch series with a Size 55 frame size of the most popular manufacturers

  • Adhesive or screw mounting in the supplied interchangeable frame with the supplied mounting material 
  • Mounting on a free flush-mounted box with the mounting plate optimised for this purpose 
  • Integration into the Homematic IP desk stand (HmIP-DS55) for a longer battery life 
  • As an alternative to battery operation, the wall thermostat can also be supplied with 230 V via the Homematic IP power supply unit for brand switches (HmIP-BPS).
